Goals

Goals

I have avoided goal setting for a long time.

Ugh- there I said it. I know it sounds silly. I mean what's the big deal right? And aren't goals a good thing?

Yeah, goals should be a good thing, but when you have it in your head that whenever you set goals, you fail- you don't quite hit that goal- well, goals become horrible things.

Thankfully, I have made a lot of progress over the last month or so. I haven't just set goals. I have set BIG goals. I have also been talking to other people about goal setting and you know what I have found? I am not the only one with an aversion to goals!!

These few people I have talked to (and myself) all expressed the same issue with goals: there is a major fear of failure and also a fear of the embarrassment and shame that comes along with that failure.

Our brains are only able to envision the future based on what has happened in our past. So, if every time you set a goal, you don't quite meet it or you don't make an effort to achieve it, your brain concludes that when you set goals you fail. This is just a natural part of our programming for survival. For example, we need to be able to experience a life-threatening situation once and learn either, how to get through it safely or how to avoid it entirely.

There are a couple of things to consider when considering goal setting. First of all, logically, we know that our past does not determine our futures. Just because you didn't meet one of your goals, doesn't mean that you won't smash the next goal you set! Second, there are benefits to failure. I know it sounds crazy, but really think about it. Not only are you learning ways that don't work to meet the goal you set, but you are also opening yourself up to the possibility of something altogether different. Here are eight examples of inventors that didn't meet the goal they set out to.... they just changed the world with their accidental inventions instead!

If you have the desire to accomplish something (anything!), all you need is the determination to see your project, journey, or process through. It can be so easy to give in, to give up, and to forget. You will never lose that desire no matter how hard you try. Please consider this before you give up completely: What if? What if you are meant to create a life-changing invention? What if you are the only person on the planet to educate on a certain topic? What if your story is the story that changes the life of one desperate person? 5 people? 100 people? What if you push through, smash your goal, and change your own life? And the lives of those you love with it?

Goal setting can be a challenge. Facing the fear of failure is not fun. This is not the path of least resistance. However, this can be the most rewarding path. Don't quit. You are the only person capable of doing whatever desire is on your heart. The world needs you. There is only one you.

What is a Heart Wall?

What is a Heart Wall?
I have struggled to connect with people... even the people that I should just be close to... my siblings, my parents, my children... even my husband.

A huge part of that has also been that I apparently have stuffed down my emotions the majority of my life. This lead to basically operating without emotions... until I was triggered (which wasn't rare 🤦‍♀️).

Rage is an emotion that I know well. I know that my familiarity with rage has not helped my relationships with those closest to me. If I wasn't raging or cluelessly hustling toward my next accomplishment, I was most likely crashed in bed or on the couch feeling worthless and exhausted. It didn't matter how caring and loving my family was being, I couldn't feel the love from them.... and they certainly weren't feeling the love from me.

My chiropractor had some essential oils in her office and I heard her talking about them to another patient one day... so I bought some. I found one that tamed the rage. I learned a lot about hormone disruptors and how many of my household products were contributing to my rage sessions and pitty parties.

I learned that feeling any emotion is OKAY. It seems too obvious, but it needs to be said. It is okay to feel. You are supposed to feel- it's how we connect deeply to others.

However, sometimes even the emotions that we accept can get in our way. Sometimes they can cause (chronic) physical pain, anxiety, or even prevent you from moving forward in certain areas of your life.

When I brought the issues about connecting to people that I was having to my Emotion Code practitioner, she suggested that we work on my Heart-Wall. (Learn more about the Emotion Code here).

When emotions become trapped in our bodies, they are recognized by our subconscious mind as spare material just laying around.

At one point or another, you have probably felt heartache. And you have probably heard of the concept of having a broken heart. Our conscious mind and our subconscious mind both agree that heartache and broken-heartedness are to be avoided at all costs.

As a result, the subconscious mind uses what it has to protect the heart: that spare material- trapped emotions. The trapped emotions are used to build a wall around the heart to keep it safe.

It sounds like a good plan: protect the heart- prevent pain. However, that plan doesn't come without consequences.

The area of our body where the heart is located has been long been referred to as "the seat of the soul" and it is believed that our hearts don't only pump blood through our veins, but it also emits our life force. People also associate the emotion of love coming from the heart.

If we believe that love and our life force come from the heart and we know that trapped, lower-frequency (negative emotions) are forming a wall around the heart, then, we know that for anything to travel to or from the heart it has to pass through the heart wall. That means the love you are sending to your kids is polluted before it reaches them. That means that the organs that depend on your life force to sustain them are receiving a polluted version of your life force.

Have you ever been told to follow your heart? You can't follow a heart that is trapped behind a wall. There are so many ways we benefit from taking down our heart walls. So many parts of my life fell into place by simply scheduling a heart wall session with my practitioner- from the family relationships, I mentioned earlier, to launching new aspects of my business with confidence and success. What is the emotion code?

What is the emotion code?
Y'all! I have been working hard to get ready to share this amazing modality with you!  I am so excited to share with you today about the Emotion Code. And YES! This is great for HORSE and RIDER!

What is the Emotion Code?

To understand what the Emotion Code is, we need to start with emotions. Emotions, like everything else in the universe, are energy. Different emotions have been associated with different organs and can, in fact, become trapped within both human and animal bodies.

Emotions become trapped when they are not properly processed or are really powerful. Once an emotion is trapped in the body it has the potential to prevent you from accomplishing your goals, prevent you from deep connections with others, and even the potential to cause physical pain and illness.

Luckily, we are able to release emotions once they have become trapped. Bonus: it's super simple and virtually painless- no long-suffering therapy sessions necessary! 🙌

The Emotion Code is a process of identifying and clearing emotions that have become trapped in our bodies throughout our lifetime and even some that have been inherited from previous generations. My journey with The Emotion Code started several years ago when I saw a Youtube video of Dr. Bradley Nelson explaining and demonstrating The Emotion Code... which lead to the purchase of his book (get your copy here: https://amzn.to/34nvF5M). I was intrigued by the book and even attempted some of the techniques on my own- however, I wasn't confident enough to do much with it.

Fast forward to July of 2020 when my BFF mentioned that she had scheduled an Emotion Code session with a practitioner! I was interested and after she reported a positive experience, I made an appointment with the same practitioner. After several sessions, my practitioner mentioned that becoming certified in the Emotion Code would be a perfect addition to the services my business already offers- y'all, she wasn't kidding!!

The Emotion Code has opened up a whole new realm to me. So far, I have been able to work on horses, people, dogs, and cats from all over the United States and even in the UK!

I have seen the Emotion Code break bad habits, relieve physical pain, lift emotional weight off of people, find and relieve problems in animals that vets and other professionals couldn't identify, finally allow people to be free from extra physical weight and so much more.

Hustle

Hustle
Let's chat about hustle for a minute. I assume everyone is familiar with hustle. Maybe it's not something you are doing right now, but most likely you have had a time in your life that you were hustling. You were working so hard for something that you wanted for yourself, for your family, or even someone else entirely.

I LOVE hustle. I love working.... yes, even physical labor. Growing up it was common to be told that working hard would deliver the results I was looking for- and so did Disney movies. Most TV shows and movies growing up did have an element of work hard to get what you want. But there were others that spoke truth- you have a purpose and when you focus on that purpose and showing up in service, miracles happen- people in my life would graciously remind me that "movies are just pretend."

Here's the truth- from a long time hustler/ workaholic: Alignment is what really matters- not how hard or how much you work.

My best results are always from times when I was in a deep flow. When ideas would just pop into my head when I had no questions about what was best because I was so excited to employ my latest light bulb moments. And that, my friends, is alignment. Those days I could put in less than two hours of work a day and have HUGE results. I was a result magnet.

Have you seen the Field of Dreams? Yeah, you know, the movie with Kevin Costner (if you are in your 20s you may need to look it up on Disney+ 🤣)... Anyway, the tag line from the movie is, "If you build it, they will come." Kevin Costner's character is on the verge of losing the family farm and he spends boo-coo bucks to build a baseball field on his land.

I am not going to try to convince you that ghosts are real or any of the other woo-woo things that happened in that movie, but I KNOW that when we follow our hearts, walk in our purpose and serve others, we will be fulfilled, at peace, and be provided for.

You will never hear me say that hustle is bad. I will tell you that unaligned hustle will burn you out. I will also tell you that there is a better way. If you continue to hustle with no or only partial alignment, you will not achieve what you are after- you may complete your immediate goal, but the bigger goal (peace, fulfillment, time and financial freedom) will constantly be right out of reach.

The Truth about Health, Wellness and Prevention

The Truth about Health, Wellness and Prevention

I don't know about you, but when I was growing up, we didn't make too many trips to the doctor. My family has been blessed with good health. Its as easy as that, right?

The reality is that my family ate very little processed foods. My mother was "no fun" and never let me get my favorite sugar loaded cereals when we went to the store. She also made sure that I had limited access to pop. We always had plenty of fresh (home grown when possible) fruits and vegetables. I spent most of my days active and outside and when I was inside, my face was in a book. My mother also went to great lengths to ensure that my sister and I were not exposed to some of life's most negative, confusing and heart wrenching moments. I know that is really why my family was and has been so healthy. My mother did everything in her power to make sure that our family ate, moved and thought well. I don't know that she was aware then, but she set us all up to have optimum health.

What is optimum health? Heck, what is health? For most people I know, they have never experienced optimum health. We all have settled for health that can include headaches, soreness, heartburn, restless sleep, exhaustion and so many other "normal" symptoms. The truth is, health is living without symptoms. Health is your body being able to fight off any invaders without you even knowing that the invaders showed up. Health is the state that your body is in when everything is functioning the way it was meant to function. Your body systems are strong and efficient.

So what does it take to reach that kind of health? Optimal health, when your body is strong and efficient, is earned by eating well, thinking well and moving well.

Okay great- you know it all now- eat well, think well, move well- that's all there is to it... right? Yes and no. It depends on what you believe constitutes eating, thinking and moving well. Earning optimal health can seem overwhelming when we look at the magnitude of information available to us. High fat or high carb? Raw food or cooked foods... or both? Protein shakes or only whole foods? Supplements or no? And all these questions (and all their many different answers) only pertain to the "eat well" portion of optimal health! It is hard to believe that understanding how to obtain and maintain optimal health could possibly be simple with so much differing information.

The truth is that obtaining optimal health is simple. All anyone has to do is provide their body with the materials that are required by their DNA. Humans, as a species, all require the same materials for optimal health. The proper portions of fruits, vegetables and water are all required. As is the appropriate type and amount of exercise. And finally, thinking in a positive and open manner also plays into your current level of health.

It's usually that last bit there that really holds people up. It's pretty safe to say that "everyone" knows or has at least heard about eating less and moving more, but.... ummmmm, what the heck does my thinking have to do with my health?! A lot, actually.

All in all, this health business seems really complicated. Wellness and Prevention don't have to be though. It does take a little research and dedication and it is worth all of it if you want to avoid illness and experience your best life. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure right?! If you are interested in starting your journey toward optimal health, I would highly recommend that you look up Dr. James Chestnut. It's important to remember two things: 1) this is your journey. You choose the path and customize it every step of the way; 2) you don't have to change everything in your life at once. You absolutely can turn your life upside-down, overhaul your lifestyle and remove all of the unnecessary chemicals from your life tomorrow. Or, you can start small by just eating one more serving of fruit and vegetables tomorrow than you usually would. Then maybe ditch the standard, chemical-laden deodorant..... or decide that the one thing you will never change is your deodorant. It's completely up to you. Build a life you love and nourish your body to live the life you've built!
